Inspiration exhibition on kickstarter
Lauri Lyons has launched a 35 day Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for my photography exhibition, INSPIRATION: PORTRAITS OF BLACK WOMEN CHANGING OUR WORLD. The exhibition is a companion project to the INSPIRATION coffee table book, published by Abrams Books in 2012. The exhibition and book captures the spirit of 30 iconic Black women transforming America today. INSPIRATION celebrates these women’s success, gains in social equality, and their diverse representations of beauty.
THE GOAL of the Kickstarter campaign is to raise $20,000 worth of pledges. The money will go towards printing and framing 30 (20” x 24”), color digital archival prints. Once the project is successfully funded, the prints will be showcased as a traveling exhibition, that will be available for museums, galleries, universities, and public institutions. The long term goal is to have the INSPIRATION exhibition tour both domestically and internationally.
